(Judd Apatow on his daughter Maude)

Because:I want to say I think something like Twitter would have been great for me around Maude’s age, too. (What were our alternatives, LiveJournal? No, thanks.) It would have been an opportunity to write when I was just starting to play around, a forum for fast feedback and a place to connect with and be influenced by other like-minded writers, maybe. Then I remember how almost everything I read in retrospect I find to be totally embarrassing, like the stray Facebook comment that pops up from the past in my feed from time to time.

I adore this story, that of Maude and Twitter and a young writer developing her voice. (Also, her scene explaining childbirth inKnocked Upis one of my favorites ever.)
